iN VIDEO: Set your clocks back an hour tonight

An extra hour of sleep this weekend will be welcome for a lot of people.

It’s the annual shift back from daylight saving time to standard time.

Officially, the change comes at 2 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 4, but most people set their clocks back before heading to bed Saturday night.

While we gain the extra hour of sleep Sunday, we also lose an hour of daylight in the late afternoon.

Fire departments say this is a good time to put a new battery in the smoke alarm.

We only get about four months of standard time.

Daylight savings time returns at 2 a.m. on the second Sunday in March — March 10, 2019.
