Toronto man charged after cocaine-filled chocolate candies seized
TORONTO – Police in Toronto say a 37-year-old man is facing charges after cocaine-filled chocolate candies were intercepted by Canada Border Services Agency.
Police say a package was intercepted by the CBSA on Dec. 17, 2013, was found to contain cocaine concealed in chocolate candies.
A second package of chocolate candies containing cocaine was seized on Jan. 2, 2014.
Both packages were destined for Toronto from Colombia.
Investigators say a search warrant was executed in Toronto on Thursday and officers seized cocaine and cash.
Jose Prado Carmona of Toronto faces five counts, including unlawfully importing drugs and possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.
