More resources to search Thompson River for body
KAMLOOPS – Added resources will be used to scour the Thompson River this week to try and locate a body.
Over the weekend, RCMP received a report from people canoeing shortly before 10 a.m. Saturday, April 21, that they had found a body in the Thompson River, but lost sight of it when they went to report it to police.
Police searched by boat and plane over the weekend but could not locate the body.
This morning, April 23, Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Jodi Shelkie said that the detachment is arranging for the RCMP helicopter to search the river some time over the next few days.
Kamloops RCMP is also working with partner agencies on having a boat search the river.
