SAANICH, B.C. – A two-year-old girl has died after being struck by the vehicle her father was driving in Saanich, B.C.
Saanich police say the man was leaving his home Saturday when his minivan struck the toddler.
The family, police, and BC Ambulance Service all attempted life-saving measures on the girl before she was transferred to the hospital.
A news release issued by Saanich police on Monday says the little girl succumbed to her injuries in hospital.
Police spokesman Sgt. Jereme Leslie says the death is a horrible tragedy and their thoughts are with the family.
Both police and the BC Coroners Service are investigating the death.
