Fundraiser for Ryan Shtuka at Kamloops brewery this weekend

KAMLOOPS – A fundraiser for the family of missing man Ryan Shtuka will be held at a Kamloops brewery this weekend.

Red Collar Brewing, located on Lansdowne Street in downtown Kamloops, posted an event on its Facebook page, called Raising it up for Ryan.

The fundraiser will be held this Saturday, May 12.

Funds will be raised for the Shtuka family, through a silent auction, raffle, 50-50 draw and a donation table. Shtuka's mother Heather says she and her husband Scott will be in attendance.

"We wanted the opportunity to meet and say thank you to the Kamloops community," Heather says.

The brewery will be tapping a special cask with all proceeds going to the Shtuka family, and will donate 50 cents from each pint of beer sold.

Several local bands will also be playing live music during the evening.

Shtuka, now 21 years old, went missing after a house party on Burfield Drive in Sun Peaks in the early morning hours of Feb. 17.

Since then, police, search and rescue, and Shtuka's family have extensively searched throughout the ski resort town near Kamloops, with no leads on where Shtuka may be.

Shtuka's parents have been staying in Sun Peaks for the last 12 weeks, every day going out to search for their son. They've left their home, family and jobs back in Beaumont, Alta.

The family welcomes volunteers every day to search Sun Peaks, and you can learn more about volunteering here.
