Christopher Plummer brings one-man show ‘A Word or Two’ to Los Angeles

LOS ANGELES, Calif. – The Stratford Festival’s production of Christopher Plummer’s one-man show “A Word or Two” has arrived in Los Angeles.

The Oscar-winning stage and screen star was set to open the play at the Ahmanson Theatre on Wednesday.

The Toronto native created the show, which offers details about his life and the literature that has had an impact on him since youth.

Des McAnuff directs the production, which ran at southwestern Ontario’s Stratford Festival in 2012.

Plummer, who’s also won two Tony Awards and two Emmys, told The Canadian Press in 2012 the show is about celebrating language.

The 84-year-old conceived the show several years ago as a fundraiser for a library in his former home city of Darien, Conn.

“A Word or Two” runs in Los Angeles until Feb. 9.
