Wildfire near Logan Lake out of control at 140 hectares

LOGAN LAKE – A wildfire near Logan Lake has grown overnight and is estimated to be 140 hectares in size.

B.C. Wildfire fire information officer Jody Lucius says 60 crew members are working on containing the fire today, May 16, after it broke out yesterday.

Ten pieces of heavy equipment are assisting with the efforts, along with two helicopters. Lucius says air tankers will be called in as needed today.

No containment has been reached on the fire, which is still considered out of control. It's believed to be human-caused.
