Missing Kelowna man’s body found

KELOWNA – The body of a missing Kelowna man found was found this morning.

Members of the Kelowna Search and Rescue found his body today, June 2, according to an RCMP media release.

The victim has been identified as 24-year-old Jordan Mooney who was last seen in the Dilworth area of Kelowna on Sunday, May 27.

His Volkswagen Jetta was found abandoned in the McKinley Heights vicinity on Wednesday, May 30.

“Kelowna RCMP have confirmed that there is no criminality in the death of the male located and therefore this investigation is being lead by the B.C. Coroners Service,” Const. Lesley Smith says in the release. “Our thoughts and prayers are with the Mooney family and we ask that the public and media respect the family’s privacy at this difficult time."

Police say no further information will be released.
