Missouri picked as new site of Insane Clown Posse’s yearly Gathering of Juggalos event

ST. LOUIS – Organizers of a yearly outdoor festival headlined by the rap-metal group Insane Clown Posse are moving the event to Missouri after six years of troubled get-togethers in Illinois.

As promoters of the Gathering of the Juggalos, suburban Detroit-based Psychopathic Records Inc. announced on its website that the next festival will be held near central Missouri’s Kaiser.

Messages left Thursday with Psychopathic Records’ spokesman and Miller County’s sheriff weren’t immediately returned.

The five-day festival had been staged for the past six years near Cave-In-Rock, an Illinois village along the Ohio River.

While drawing tens of thousands of people, the event also has developed a reputation for unruliness marked by drug overdoses, fights, arrests and the deaths of some Juggalos, the term by which Insane Clown Posse fans are known.
