Man charged with setting twin on fire pleads not guilty
CONCORD, N.H. – A lawyer has entered a not guilty plea and waived arraignment for a New Hampshire man accused of setting his twin sister on fire.
Court documents say 37-year-old Dwayne Crawford told Concord police he deliberately lit his sister on fire Thursday. Police said the sister, Tamika Crawford, was found in a snowbank outside their home. She said Crawford poured gasoline on her before setting the blaze.
She suffered third-degree burns to her upper body and was taken to a hospital in Boston, where she was in critical condition.
Crawford is being held without bail on charges of arson, attempted first-degree murder, first-degree assault, reckless conduct and criminal mischief. He’s scheduled for a hearing on Dec. 28.
A police affidavit quotes Crawford telling a police officer, “I did it, I lit her on fire.”
