Kamloops arrest four men seizing weapons, drugs

KAMLOOPS – Four men from the Lower Mainland are in custody after Kamloops RCMP received a call about a man waving a machete this morning.

Police say the man they found waving a machete at around 7 a.m. today, June 6, was associated with a vehicle at the Cascades Casino parking lot.

The vehicle had three men inside and a search was conducted, according to an RCMP media release.

“Police attended and arrested all of the men,” Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Jodi Shelkie says in the release. “A search of their vehicle revealed a second machete, brass knuckles, a sawed-off shotgun and a quantity of illegal drugs.”

The drugs have been sent for testing to confirm the composition.

Shelkie says the suspects are known to police and they will remain in custody as the investigation is ongoing.

All investigational information is being forwarded to the B.C. Prosecution Service to determine charges.
