Dozens of bikes, pickup, trailer stolen from Kelowna bike rental shop

KELOWNA – Police are investigating a theft at a Kelowna bike rental shop after dozens of mountain bikes, a pickup truck and a customized trailer were stolen overnight.

Police say they received a report just after 8 a.m. today, June 7, of an overnight theft from the 3200 block of McCulloch Road in Kelowna.

Police say the suspects stole around three dozen bicycles, a white 2007 Ford F-250 pickup truck, a customized 20-foot black 2015 Oasis flat deck trailer from Myra Canyon Bike Rentals in East Kelowna.

The thieves also stole four additional kids bikes, a couple blue bike stands and approximately 60 helmets that were all in the back of the pickup truck at the time of the theft, according to an RCMP media release.

“We are confident that motorists in the Central Okanagan would have remembered seeing the stolen vehicle and unique trailer mobile on our roadways, either sometime late last night or early this morning,” Kelowna RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey says in the release.

Police are asking anyone with information or may have witnessed the stolen pickup to contact Const. Sean McCutcheon at the Kelowna RCMP detachment at 250-762-3300.
