TORONTO – The Toronto Blue Jays have placed right-hander Kyle Drabek on the 15-day disabled list with a right elbow sprain.
The move was announced Friday before Toronto’s home opener of three-game interleague set with the Philadelphia Phillies.
Lefty Brett Cecil has been recalled from triple-A Las Vegas and will start in Sunday’s series finale.
Drabek (4-7) was forced to leave Wednesday’s game against the Washington Nationals in the fifth inning after suffering the injury.
He has 4.67 ERA in 13 starts this season, while holding opponents to a .250 average.
