Kelowna RCMP on hunt for home invasion suspects
KELOWNA – Despite a search involving police dogs and an RCMP airplane, police are still looking for several suspects involved in a home invasion in Kelowna this morning.
RCMP say multiple individuals forced their way into a home on Riverside Avenue near downtown at around 9 a.m. today, June 8.
The homeowner was assaulted but wasn’t hurt badly enough to need medical attention, according to an RCMP media release.
Police say the suspects went through the victim’s house, but don’t say if anything was taken.
The suspects took off on foot, but eluded a police search.
“Our investigators have reason to believe that this was not a random act, that the break-in was targeted,” Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey says in the release.
