Police identify two men involved in fatal stabbing in Smithers Friday evening

SMITHERS, B.C. – A man is facing a second degree murder charge in connection with a stabbing death in northern B.C.

Twenty-one-year-old Kelly Andrew Johnson is accused in the death of 26-year-old Francis George Namox.

RCMP responded to an emergency call in Smithers and found a 26-year-old man suffering from wounds in an apartment building.

Namox was taken to hospital and pronounced dead.

Johnson will appear in Smithers provincial court on Tuesday to face the allegation.

Police continue to investigate and are asking anyone with information to come forward.
