Police identify man who died in suspected Burnaby killing Thursday

BURNABY, B.C. – Homicide investigators have identified a man who died in Burnaby on Thursday.

Twenty-one-year-old Marvin Benitez of Burnaby was found on a pathway near Lougheed SkyTrain station in cardiac arrest.

He was rushed to hospital where he was pronounced dead shortly after.

Police say his death isn’t random, but doesn’t appear to be gang-related.

No further details are being released at this time.
