Quebec probe looks at allegations of intimidation on construction sites
MONTREAL – Quebec’s corruption probe is hearing stories from one of its investigators about extensive intimidation and extortion on construction sites in various regions of the province.
Michel Comeau is testifying on behalf of about 70 people who agreed to speak to him as long as they were never identified.
The group included workers, union reps, foremen and company owners.
Comeau says people told him they were fearful of reprisals if they spoke publicly about the intimidation, including never being able to work again.
