Penticton police warning stops weed sales at head shop
PENTICTON – Penticton RCMP continue to enforce the current marijuana laws, this time in an action against a Penticton-based pot shop.
Green Essence Head Shop Inc., a marijuana dispensary located at 409 Martin St., was the focus of the Penticton RCMP’s Targeted Enforcement Unit yesterday, June 11.
Penticton RCMP spokesperson Const. James Grandy says in a media release police warned the owner that if marijuana sales out of the store continued, the law would be enforced.
"The Green Essence store advised they would shut their store down," Grandy says.
A call to the store by iNFOnews.ca was answered by a man who refused to identify himself, but said marijuana sales had ceased at the store.
The move comes less than two weeks after a raid on an Okanagan Falls marijuana dispensary.
