British children’s TV shows win 4 International Emmy Kids Awards
NEW YORK, N.Y. – British children’s TV programs have swept the 2nd International Emmy Kids Awards, winning four of the six categories.
The British winners included “Pet School,” for non-scripted entertainment category. In that show, children learn how to look after animals. The British also won the factual category with “Same But Different,” which tells the stories of 7 to 11 year olds with disabilities.
“Ben and Holly’s Little Kingdom” (preschool) and “Room on the Broom” (animation) were the other British shows honoured at Monday night’s awards ceremony at Chelsea Piers in New York.
Shows from Brazil and Canada also took home top awards.
The awards presented by the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences celebrate excellence in children’s TV programming outside the U.S.
