19-year-old man dies in Kamloops workplace accident

KAMLOOPS – A young man has died following a workplace accident in Kamloops.

The 19-year-old Tirecraft worker has been identified as Brendan Stokes, a family friend has confirmed to iNFOnews.ca. On June 29 at about 10:41 a.m. Kamloops RCMP, Emergency Services and WorkSafeBC attended the fatal accident in the 10200 block of Dallas Drive.

A media release from RCMP says the man was located at the scene, deceased from injuries he received while repairing a Caterpillar Wheel Loader.

The investigation is being conducted by WorkSafeBC and B.C. Coroners Service is investigating the death.

Officials have not confirmed the man’s identity.
