Team NEXXICE earns eighth straight senior title with record performance

BURNABY, B.C. – Team NEXXICE captured its eighth straight senior title with a record performance Saturday at the Skate Canada national synchronized skating championships.

The Ontario team put together a combined score of 228.12 points (short and free skate) to beat its own 2009 record score of 223.58 points.

Team NEXXICE easily outdistanced Les Supremes from Saint-Leonard, Que., which finished with 215.02 points. Third place went to the Edge team from Oakville, Ont., which finished with 111.76 points.

NEXXICE and Les Supremes will head to the World Senior Championship this April in Italy.
