UPDATE: Power back on for thousands in Kamloops

KAMLOOPS – The lights were out for about 3,500 homes and businesses in the Sahali and Aberdeen neighbourhoods of Kamloops for about two-and-a-half hours Sunday.

The electricity stopped flowing at about 11:40 a.m., according to B.C. Hyrdo's Mora Scott.

The power was out west of Simms Road, south of Greenstone Drive and north of Edith Lake Road.

"Crews patrolled the impacted power line and couldn't find a cause," she says, "We think a tree or branch fell and hit the line, tripping it, and then it fell to the ground."

Scott says the power went back on shortly before 2 p.m.
