Cloudy skies tomorrow will be followed by solid sunshine in the Okanagan

KELOWNA – Summer is going to take a foothold in the Okanagan as the second week of July gets underway.

Environment Canada meteorologist Lisa Erven says a cold front will sweep through the valley tomorrow, July 9, knocking five to 10 degrees off temperatures, but a high pressure ridge behind it will bring sunny skies and a return of warm temperatures on Wednesday.

Expect a mix of sun and cloud with a high of around 31 Celsius today. The forecast calls for clouds overnight with a low of 16.

Tomorrow the clouds roll in with the cold front with a 30 per cent chance of showers and a high of around 21 C. Skies are expected to clear overnight with a low of 12 C.

The rest of the week should be sunny with highs in the low 30s throughout the valley.

Normal temperatures for this time of year in the Okanagan are highs of 26 C and lows of 12 C.
