ROCK HILL, S.C. – Police in South Carolina say a crash involving three vehicles, including one that was fleeing police, has killed one person and sent five more to the hospital.
Rock Hill police spokesman Capt. Mark Bollinger said in a news release that 23-year-old Stevie McClinton drove away as police who suspected he was selling drugs and guns from his 1973 Buick Century tried to pull him over around 4:15 p.m. Wednesday.
Police say McClinton ran a red light and crashed into two other vehicles. Authorities haven’t released the name of the person killed or the conditions of the injured.
McClinton tried to run, but was arrested a short time later.
Bollinger says police found ecstasy, crack cocaine, marijuana and two guns in McClinton’s trunk. It wasn’t known if he had a lawyer.
