LOS ANGELES, Calif. – “The Great Beauty,” an Italian film hailed as an ode to Federico Fellini’s 1960 film “La Dolce Vita,” has won the Oscar for best foreign language film.
The movie, heavily favoured since winning awards from the Golden Globes and British Academy, follows Jep Gambardella, who at age 65 begins to re-examine the luxuriant life he’s led in Rome.
