A division of Telus buys B.C.-based electronic medical records company

VANCOUVER – A division of Telus (TSX:T) is acquiring the electronic medical records company Med Access Inc. based in Kelowna, B.C., for an undisclosed sum. Vancouver-based Telus has identified the medical records business as an area of growth to offset declines in some of its older telecommunications businesses. Med Access Inc. provides services to 2,000 specialty and general practice physicians in B.C., Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Ontario.
