UPDATE: Large number of homes in West Kelowna removed from evacuation alert

WEST KELOWNA – A large number of properties in West Kelowna near the Law Creek wildfire have been taken off evacuation alert.

Central Okanagan Emergency Operations Centre says some of the Upper Glenrosa properties that were put on evacuation alert last night, July 19, are no longer under threat from the wildfire.

Earlier this afternoon, the EOC had sent an incorrect list, but it has now been corrected.

There are still properties on evacuation alert, which means those residents still need to be ready to leave at a moment's notice.

You can go here for a detailed map showing all the properties on evacuation alert from the Law Creek wildfire.

The total number of properties on evacuation alert in the Central Okanagan is now 803, with 38 properties on evacuation order.

The emergency social services reception centre at Lakeview Heights Baptist Church will close at 5 p.m. tomorrow, July 21, to relocate to the Salvation Army Community Church at 1480 Sutherland Ave. That centre will open on July 22 at noon.

Visit the regional district's website, Facebook page, or Twitter for the latest information about the situation.
