VERNON – Police would like to find the owners of a scooter they believe may have been stolen from the North Okanagan area.
An employee of Vernon Medical Supply told Mounties two males and a female wanted the dead battery in a Blue GIO electric scooter recharged but when the employee started asking questions, the three took off, according to a media release.
Officers patrolled the area but came up empty.
During the investigation, police found the VIN or model number was no longer on the scooter and the ignition appeared to be tampered with. The keys were stuck in the lock of the battery compartment but the battery was missing. The investigation continues and Vernon RCMP are asking residents of the North Okanagan area they are searching for the owner of the scooter.
Anyone with information or those who would like to claim the scooter can contact Vernon RCMP at 250-545-7171.
