TORONTO – Johny (Bigg Rigg) Hendricks says hard-hitting (Ruthless) Robbie Lawler is a more dangerous opponent than former champion Georges St-Pierre.
Hendricks lost a controversial decision to St-Pierre at UFC 167 last November. The Canadian subsequently gave up his belt, saying he needed time away from the sport.
Hendricks and Lawler face off for the vacant welterweight title on March 15 at UFC 171 in Dallas.
Hendricks says the 31-year-old Lawler is more dangerous than the former champ because he can knock you out if you make a mistake.
In his words: “You’re one punch away from losing.”
Hendricks is the top-ranked contender in the 170-pound division while Lawler is No. 3.
