Squatters may be to blame for shed fire on vacant Kelowna property
KELOWNA – Transients are again being implicated in a Kelowna fire, after a garden shed went up in flames early this morning.
The 911 call came in at 3:40 a.m. today, July 25, Kelowna Fire Department Platoon Capt. John Kelly said in a press release, sending firefighters to the 700 block of Moyer Road.
Crews found a 10-foot by 10-foot square shed on fire, on a vacant piece of property which crews quickly extinguished, Kelly said.
The cause is unknown but Kelly said squatters have been reported on the property.
