GONZALES, La. – Louisiana State Police say a car driven by a 14-year-old has crashed head-on with a motorcycle, killing two men on the bike.
Senior Trooper Bryan Lee told news outlets that the car veered into the wrong lane early Monday morning. Killed were 42-year-old Robert Stafford and his passenger, 45-year-old Dusty Duet.
Lee says the car kept going until it hit a utility pole. The teen was hospitalized.
Investigators say impairment is not suspected, but blood samples from both drivers will be analyzed. Charges are pending, but no further details have been released.
In Louisiana, the minimum age to obtain a learner’s permit is 15, and a first-time driver’s license cannot be obtained until age 17.
