B.C. man charged in connection with 2008 murder though victim’s body never found
CHILLIWACK, B.C. – A 45-year-old man has been charged with second-degree murder in the 2008 disappearance of a Chilliwack, B.C., resident whose body has never been found.
Richard MacInnes was arrested and charged Friday and made his first court appearance Monday in the death of Michael Scullion.
The 33-year-old Scullion was last seen outside a motel in Agassiz (AG-AH-see) six years ago on a day that he failed to show up for work or pick up his daughter.
Sgt. Adam MacIntosh of the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team says that within a few days, investigators determined foul play was involved.
MacIntosh says that despite the lack of a body, there was sufficient evidence to suggest Scullion was no longer alive and had been the victim of a homicide.
Scullion’s father Lou is thanking police and the many people who have supported the family.
