Targeted shooting on downtown Vancouver street kills one man, injures another

VANCOUVER – A 29-year-old man has died and a 28-year-old has been seriously injured in a targeted, gang-related shooting in downtown Vancouver.

Sgt. Randy Fincham says the men were attacked at about 10:30 Monday evening near the Coal Harbour waterfront, on West Cordova Street, not far from the Olympic cauldron and several upscale hotels.

Officers blocked off the area and it remained closed early Tuesday morning.

Fincham confirms both victims were sitting in a car when they were shot, but few other details are available.

The second man is reported in stable condition.

No names have been released and there’s no word on any suspects. (CKNW)
