Kitties hit the big screen for Internet cat video festival in Toronto
TORONTO – An internet cat video festival featuring feline fan Laureen Harper is headed to Toronto.
Just for Cats: Internet Cat Video Festival is devoted to the best in cat-themed YouTube videos.
Hosted by TIFF Bell Lightbox, the features will be introduced the wife of the prime minister on April 17. Harper is a cat foster-mom and humane society volunteer.
From there, the features will tour other Canadian cities, including Saskatoon, Montreal, Vancouver and Regina.
Other programs headed to the Lightbox this spring include a spotlight on the late Michel Brault, the Canadian premiere of Orson Welles’ recently rediscovered silent film “Too Much Johnson” and the musical sensation “Sing-a-Long-a Grease.”
Special guests will include screenwriter Terry Hayes who will discuss “Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior,” author Yann Martel discussing the Oscar-winning adaptation of his novel “Life of Pi” and chef, founder and owner of Momofuku Milk Bar Christina Tosi talking about “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.”
