Dole’s Italian Blend salad being recalled due to possible Listeria contamination

OTTAWA – Dole brand Italian Blend salad is being pulled from store shelves because of possible Listeria contamination.

The salad, made by Dole Fresh Vegetables Inc., is sold in Ontario, Quebec and New Brunswick but may have also been sold in other provinces.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency says the affected salad is sold in a 10-ounce bag with a best-before date of 14-MR-12.

There are no reported illnesses tied to eating this salad.

Food contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes may not look or smell spoiled but can still make you sick.

Symptoms can include vomiting, nausea, persistent fever, muscle aches, severe headache and neck stiffness. Pregnant women, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems are particularly at risk.
