Canada tops China in wheelchair curling to set up gold-medal game against Russia

SOCHI, Russia – Canada will be going for a curling three-peat at the Sochi Paralympic Winter Games.

Jim Armstrong’s rink downed China 5-4 in a tight semifinal this morning to set up a gold-medal game later today against Russia.

The host Russians defeated Britain 13-4 in seven ends in the other semi.

Canada, which won gold in 2006 and again in 2010, defeated Russia 5-4 during round-robin play.

Britain will play China for bronze.

Canada is looking to become the first country to sweep the men’s, women’s and wheelchair curling gold at an Olympic and Paralympic Games.
