Second hand smoke from numerous forest fires affecting the Southern Interior
Where there’s fire, there’s smoke, says B.C. Wildfire about today’s hazy conditions dominating skies in the Southern Interior.
"Due to the large number of wildfires currently burning across B.C., smoke can be coming from any number of these fires. Smoke can travel hundreds of kilometres from its original source,” B.C. Wildfire says on its Facebook page today, Aug. 7.
Smoky skies have prompted lots of calls to B.C. Wildfire but it says it is difficult to pinpoint exactly where this smoke is coming from.
While the source may not be clear, the effect it can have is and the provincial government has issued a smoky skies bulletin for an area that covers a large swath of Southern B.C.
