Ride the bus for free on civic election day

KELOWNA – To make it easier for folks to get to voting stations, Kelowna Regional Transit will offer free rides all day Sat. Nov. 15.

The idea is to give everyone in Kelowna, West Kelowna, Peachland and Lake Country an opportunity to vote in the local general election.

“The free transit on election day gives citizens another option to get out and vote to support the democratic process. It gives them a convenient way of getting to and from the polls,” Regional Programs Manager Jerry Dombowsky says in a media release.

"If someone doesn't have a way to the polls, we want to be sure to give them the opportunity to vote," Dombowsky says.
