NEW YORK, N.Y. – The no-longer-anonymous author of a popular Wall Street Twitter account has found a new publisher two weeks after a Simon & Schuster imprint dropped his book amid allegations that he had misrepresented himself.
Grove Atlantic announced Wednesday it has reached a six-figure deal with John LeFevre for the Wall Street takedown “Straight to Hell.”
LeFevre had attracted hundreds of thousands of followers through his irreverent and anonymous @GSElevator, which purported to offer an inside take on Goldman Sachs. But in recent weeks, his identity was revealed and he acknowledged that he never worked at Goldman Sachs.
LeFevre is a former Citigroup executive who lives in Texas.
Grove Atlantic said in a statement Wednesday that it was “comfortable” with LeFevre’s background. The book is scheduled to come out in November.
