PENTICTON – An abandoned mobile home went up in flames last night in Penticton.
Penticton deputy fire chief Dennis Smith says firefighters were called to the Whitewater Mobile Home Park around 11:35 p.m. yesterday, Aug. 14, where a vacant mobile home was found in flames.
Smith said the structure was destroyed in the blaze.
“We were called to a minor fire in the building some time ago. It appeared transients had been using it,” Smith says, adding the building had been boarded up and the power cut off.
No one was hurt and not other structures in the mobile home park were damaged.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
