Early morning shooting sends two men to hospital in New Westminster

NEW WESTMINSTER, B.C. – Two men have been injured in an early morning shooting in New Westminster, B.C.

Police in that Metro Vancouver suburb say the incident began at about 12:30 a.m., with reports of several shots fired in a usually quiet residential neighbourhood near the south end of Queens Park.

As officers were responding to that call, police say the victim managed to drive himself to the police station.

In all, investigators say two men have been hurt, one of them suffering a gun shot wound, while the second person’s injuries are described as minor.

It’s not clear if both victims were in the car that arrived at the police station or if the second man was located by officers.

Both have been treated in hospital and further details about the shooting could be released later.
