Prolific Penticton offender free for five days before getting arrested again
PENTICTON – A Penticton-area prolific offender is back behind bars after recently being granted bail.
Penticton RCMP say 40-year-old Jason Van Raes was arrested on Aug. 20 and appeared in court on several counts of property crime. He was released on bail.
Police arrested Van Raes again on Aug. 25, according to an RCMP media release.
RCMP say officers caught up with Van Raes in the Duncan Avenue and Fairview Road area while responding to a report of a man attempting to hot wire a vehicle. He was taken into custody after a short foot chase.
He was scheduled to appear in court today, Aug. 27.
