KELOWNA – It was a heartbreaker of a loss for Rutland’s very own Kelowna Chiefs.
The Chiefs were defeated 5 – 1 by the Nelson Leafs Saturday night at Rutland Arena.
Cole Arcuri opened up scoring for Nelson in the first period at 16:03. Kyle Hazelwood would answer back for the Chiefs with 50 seconds left in the first.
The second period was scoreless.
The third period wasn’t kind to the Chiefs, as Nelson would score their remaining four goals in the final 20 minutes of play.
Tyler O’Donnell was solid in net, facing 29 shots. The Chiefs would rack up 16 minutes worth of penalties.
The weekend isn’t over for the Kelowna Chiefs as they hit the road to Princeton on Sunday October 27th for a matinee game against the Posse.
