BCGEU to return to bargaining table with Gateway Casinos next week

The B.C. Government and Service Employees' Union will return to mediated talks with Gateway Casinos next week.

The union's press secretary Danielle Marchand confirmed bargaining with Gateway Casinos will resume next week after the Labour Day long weekend, but she could not release any other information about how many meetings will take place or the status of the negotiations.

A strike by the 675 unionized workers at casinos in Kamloops, Vernon, Penticton and Kelowna has been underway since June 29.

The most significant issue is higher wages for workers, the union has said.
