The Eagles tells tribute show it doesn’t have music rights
TUCSON, Ariz. – A manager for the band The Eagles says a Canadian company bringing an Eagles “Hotel California” tribute show to Tucson didn’t have a license to use the band’s music.
The Arizona Daily Star reports the band sent a cease and desist letter this week to the Tucson Symphony Orchestra before a scheduled performance this weekend.
The band’s longtime manager Irving Azoff says Jeans ‘n Classics has never been licensed to perform the Eagles’ catalogue.
Peter Brennan, the founder of the London, Ontario, company, says he didn’t have a license but was in the process of getting it.
Jeans ‘n Classics pairs a five- or six-piece rock band and vocalist with orchestras to perform covers of famous artists including Prince, Queen, the Beatles, and Elton John.
