RV trailer destroyed by fire in Kelowna

KELOWNA – Yesterday evening a fifth wheel trailer went up in flames on Morrison Road in Kelowna.

It was approximately 5:50 p.m., a media release says, when the Kelowna FIre Department dispatch centre received a report of a structure fire.

When crews arrived on scene the RV was fully engulfed.

The fire started from hot oil during cooking, and the trailer was destroyed.

The lone occupant of the trailer got out safely and there were no injuries.

First arriving crews protected a nearby trainer and knocked down the flames.

There were 18 personnel in four engines, a rescue truck and a command unit. B.C. Ambulance Service, RCMP and FortisBC also attended the scene.
