Ottawa-area woman picks up $48 million cheque after Lotto Max win
TORONTO – An Ottawa-area woman has won $48 million after she bought a Lotto Max ticket “on a whim” for the first time.
Tina Ferrone says she’s couldn’t immediately process the win because it was so unexpected.
The 42-year-old says she wants to use the money to support her family and open her own yoga and wellness studio.
Her husband, who was diagnosed with cancer two years ago, says the lottery win is a big boost after what he called a “rough run” for the family.
Ferrone picked up her cheque in Toronto today.
Her winning ticket was picked in last Friday’s Lotto Max draw.
