Cyclist dies after hitting SUV in Kamloops
KAMLOOPS – The man rushed to Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops after hitting a SUV on his bicycle in Sahali Saturday afternoon didn't survive his injuries.
RCMP say the cyclist died in hospital.
The cyclist was coming down a hill in the 1600-block of Springhill Drive at about 3 p.m. when he hit the Ford Escape as the driver was turning left into the parking lot of an apartment building, according to RCMP Corp. Brian O’Callaghan.
O'Callaghan says witnesses to the crash told him the sun was low on the horizon at the time.
“I know when I came around the corner the sun was very low on the horizon, it was actually quite blinding,” O’Callaghan says.
The cyclist was wearing a helmet, he says.

Scary, that’s pretty close to some of the routes I do. Have to stay alert! R.I.P.
