Kamloops firefighters head to national competition

KAMLOOPS – A team of Kamloops firefighters are heading to the Firefit National competition this week.

The competition invites firefighters from across the country to participate in various events to test levels of fitness. Kamloops firefighters Graham Mackenzie, Mark Brise, Shawn Davidson, and Scott Wasden all competed in the regional competition earlier in the summer.

Davidson took home first place in the over-40 category and Mackenzie took first place as the competition's best individual competitor.

According to the City of Kamloops website, the team came third overall in the competition and will be heading to the national competition starting today, Sept. 5 through to Sept. 9.
