RABAT, Morocco – U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry says the U.S. will evaluate its role in the Mideast peace process after negative Israeli and Palestinian moves.
Kerry says it’s regrettable that in the last few days both sides have taken steps that are not helpful in promoting peace and ending the decades-long conflict between the two sides.
Kerry, who has been shuttling between cities in an effort to keep peace talks alive, says U.S. efforts on the Mideast peace process are not open-ended and it’s “reality check time.”
Kerry plans to return to Washington on Friday after a lengthy trip to Europe and the Middle East. He says the U.S. will — quote — “evaluate very carefully exactly where this is and where it might possibly be able to go.”
